A group of inspiring fashion designers from New York City who are ingrained in the Manhattan lifestyle function, access and creative stimulation, are carefully selected by experienced hosts who not only challenge the designers in their casting call, but strategically assigns each designer with a specific culture to learn, digest and culturally create bridal gowns for international bride-to-be's. The designers will meet, eat, greet and commune with their assigned international family while gathering all resources and information to help complete their bridal tasks. But there's a caveat, this will take place where there are small back roads, local diner and trucker bars, beauty parlors that still prepare hair roller sets and Sunday lunches after church. The designers will be placed in Arcadia, Florida. A Southern US town that's known for cowboys and rodeos. The designers will temporarily reside in a countryside home and be forced to get to know each other's lifestyle, but also participating in 6 different cultures, their traditions and rituals.This won't be easy. The designers will learn how to survive without the luxuries of NYC. Will they stand a chance? Who will last and who will go home? Three guest celebrity judges will choose the ultimate designer who completes the design tasks effectively with a satisfied bride. In doing so, the last designer standing will receive a cash prize, a fashion editorial in a magazine, and three internships with three world renowned, iconic designers.
My Passport Bride is a show that will capture the high life and luxuries of NYC, the rural life and survival elements of the day to day living. Each viewer will be educated about multiple ethnicities, cultures, and Christianity by providing insight on what love looks like in many shades of color. This show will not only help diminish stereotypes but promote diversity. Because Love is derived from Jesus Christ, this show will provide insight on what it takes to persevere through difficult challenges when pursuing a goal that not only benefits oneself but others. This show may inspire and motivate other designers to sew, draw, and design outside of the norms. It will promote flexibility in the God given talents and exemplify how God is also embedded "in the details" with His complexity. The viewers will witness luxury, color, and the passion of love wrapped in one big bow.
